There exist many different types of scholarship in the Czech Republic. To increase your chance to succeed we recommend you to have a look at all of them.
Scholarship awards under bilateral international agreements
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic annually offers scholarships to foreign nationals, pursuant to bilateral intergovernmental or deparmental agreements concluded with a number of countries. Scholarships of this type are designed for university students or graduates and PhD candidates who wish to accomplish a study or research stay at one of the Czech public institutions of higher education. The Government of the Czech Republic offers a number of scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. These so called Government scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study in the Bachelor/Master study programmes plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language or in follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Visegrad Fund scholarships
The International Visegrad Fund (IVF) was founded in 2000 by the four member states of the Visegrad Group: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The IVF offers Master’s and Post-Master’s scholarships awarded to selected scholars for periods of 1 or 2 semesters. Only citizens of certain countries are eligible. Scholarships of the South Moravian Center for International Mobility
The South Moravian Center for International Mobility offers scholarships for foreign students from countries out of the European Union, pursuing PhD studies or follow-up Master studies at its partner universities, primarily for study programmes in technical and natural science.
- Study abroad periods for students at Bachelor and Master levels and Doctoral candidates within Erasmus+ programme countries and to and from partner countries
- Traineeships abroad (work placements, internships, etc.) for students enrolled in higher education in Erasmus+ programme country
- Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMD) are excellent study programmes run by international consortia of higher education institutions. The prestigious Fulbright Program sponsored by U.S. and Czech governments provides U.S. and Czech citizens with the opportunity to study, teach, or conduct research in the partner country.

Science without borders
The Science without borders programme is funded by the Brazilian government and its main goal is to promote the initiatives of science, technology and innovation in Brazil by means of international mobility of students and researchers. The Czech Republic joined the programme in 2014 and participated in its second phase in order to allow scholarship opportunities for Brazilian students in various fields at Czech universities. The initiative was supported by the Czech participation at the EDU EXPO students fairs in Brazil in 2015. These scholarships are currently not available.
